Your Religion
Sunday, September 14, 2008 @ 11:24 AM

This is a touchy subject for most people, because lots of them don't share the same religion. Which leads to arguments, pointing out why they are wrong with their beliefs, etc. However, (I guess) most of them share the idea of accepting others as they are. I think this is the most important part of the teachings yet people ignore this sentence way too often.

I'm not going to tell what each religion is about and stuff like that, because if you are interested in one (or more) of them, you will look it up for yourselves anyway, right? Instead, I plan to give some advice on how to get yourselves accepted along with your religion.

It happens quite often that parents don't accept that you've changed, and so has your way of thinking. Try to convince them by telling them how important this is for you, and if they seriously love you, there is always room for change. No matter what kind it is.

If someone starts to talk about religion and you are not comfortable with this topic, try to redirect the conversation, or excuse yourself by taking a bathroom break. Remember that you have your beliefs, and other have theirs, so always accept them, if you want to be accepted, too.

If one of your friends has got a different religion than yours, remember that you should never hurt someone's feeling just because they are different from others in something. Be open to everything, and always be yourself, no matter what people think.
