Secondhand Shops For The Win!
Tuesday, September 16, 2008 @ 3:51 PM

Some think that secondhand shops are out of fashion (or they were not in, at all, to start with), but I think they are pretty wrong. You can get high-quality, original clothes for almost no money, or sell the ones which you will most likely never wear again. Now, who wouldn't want to shop at a place like this?

You should find one in your area (in bigger cities they are often more of them), and decide what are you looking for. Do you have something in mind or are you just looking for new clothes in general?

If you find something that catches your eye, try it on. Keep doing this until you are totally bored of the whole thing, and come back another day. If you feel like you should buy (for example) That T-shirt, but some changes need to be done on it, go to a tailor.

Also, don't forget to check the accessories, too. There are some treasures there, like belts, jewelery, shoes or hats. Even these are often quite inexpensive, and you should always remind yourself that from the money that you would spend on designer clothes you can get way more stuff here, for the same amount of money. Worth it, right?

Even if your inner-self keeps telling you how gross it is to buy someone else's clothes, give it a try. But before buying a piece of clothing always take a good look at it - are there any holes? Why did its owner want to get rid of it, anyway? If everything is fine, go ahead and buy it.

Back-to-School Shopping
Sunday, September 14, 2008 @ 11:23 AM

Well, better late than never, as they say. If you still haven't done your back-to-school shopping, I'll show you my favourite pieces of clothing, or at least some universal ones.

This lovely dress is perfect for those not-so-cold September days. Which normally turn out to be pretty hot. I think it's also great for going out with friends (picnics ftw), or just hanging around at home with something comfortable on.

This piece is actually quite wearable even during winter. We might call this The Universal Top/T-shirt/Whatever of School Girls' (Blog). Let's give it an award. Stylish and lovely.

Well, jeans are pretty useful, too. I would be surprised if anyone told me that they didn't have a single pair of them at home.
Straight cut, flare cut, boot cut, skinny jean - it doesn't matter. But they are a must.

Black Hoodies are my favourite. Did you know that black virtually slims out everonye, so it makes you look more skinnier? Also, black goes with all colours.

If you pick shoes with pastel colours, you can basically
wear them with anything. I don't suggest high heels at school (although I see lots of girls wearing these at schools), because it gives the wrong impression, and it can be quite uncomfortable sometimes.

A more girly piece for going out (or even for school). I think Japanese would use the word "kawaii" (cute) for these.

Winter is coming, so you should be prepared to face the cold weather. A jacket is another must especially now. If you get one like this (which is not too long), you can also wear it basically anytime, as an accessory, too.
