Methods of Learning

"Do you know how to learn?" When I first heard this question I didn't know if the teacher was playing tricks on us. But she was serious. And some students answered with a "no". I always thought that knowing how to learn is a requirement to attend school, but I eventually realized that learning how to study is why we go to school, too.
Always take notes in class, and remember that you will have to learn from them later, so don't just write some nonsense stuff which you accidentally heard while daydreaming. If you want to learn effectively, read the book, as well (if you have one) at home and memorize.
If you don't understand something, ask the teacher or your classmates to explain it to you, and practice at home. Sometimes you get to understand that certain thing while practicing (happens to me often), so it's pretty useful.
Keep a shedule. If you keep waiting until the last minute or just simply forget a key date, it will be your fault. Don't spend the night before a test partying - it's not worth it. You won't be able to concentrate next day.
Study for 20-40 minutes, and take a break after it. Then, start studying again and keep repeating this. You can listen to music while studying, if it makes you feel better, but it shouldn't draw your attention. Most of the students prefer music over silence when it comes to learning, so try it out. (Classical music can help
a lot.)
I've also found a helpful blog about learning. Seems to be quite great:
