Helping Out At Home
Wednesday, September 17, 2008 @ 4:49 PM
This in an important part of a healthy family lifestyle, and even though it is sometimes a bother, you shouldn' ignore it. Washing the dishes, sweeping and vacuuming only take about 10 minutes and your parents will appreciate them, for sure. These will also prepare you for parenting and work, so you are not doing this (only) for others.
When they ask you to do something, don't start a fight. Think about it this way: it can't be helped. If you are negative, nothing will change. So why not put a smile on your face and do your work?
If you don't know where to start, here are some ideas.1. Take out the trash. It only takes about 2 minutes and it's a really big help to your parents.
2. Help your siblings. If they are younger than you, help them get dressed and stuff like that.
3. Help out with shopping.
4. Make your bed each morning. This will show your parents that you can be responsible, as well. Makes you look more organized.
5. When there is a visitor at your place (relative, sibling's friend, etc.) offer to make them a drink and give them snacks.
Do some chores everyday, and you will soon see how much easier it is to get along with everyone in your family. I bet you won't get tired by helping out for some minutes, so don't be lazy, girls!
